There is one grain elevator in Fork River, Manitoba. This ex Manitoba Pool elevator has received new siding and a new roof since it became privately owned.

The elevator used to be served by the CN Winnipegosis subdivision. The photo below, used with permission, shows the way freight CN 549 at the Fork River elevator on June 28, 1987. The grain boxcars were used because the rails were too light for the cylindrical grain cars in use elsewhere.
