The village of Leask, Saskatchewan has two grain elevators remaining. One is a former Saskatchewan Wheat Pool elevator owned by Cadrain Farms, and the other is an ex Cargill elevator.
Leask is on highway 40, about 50 km north of Saskatoon.

Historic Leask Photos

This aerial photo of Leask taken in the 1950s shows five grain elevators in Leask: National, Pool, two Searle and a Pioneer. Note the steam train approaching from the top of the photograph. Photo copyright by the University of Saskatchewan, used with permission.
1982

These photos from June 1982 show three grain elevators in Leask – a squarish Pool elevator, an older Cargill elevator, and a modern Cargill elevator that was likely only a few years old.
It appears the Pool elevator was either replaced or heavily upgraded after 1982.
