The town of Avonlea, Saskatchewan has one grain elevator remaining – but what an elevator! It is a former Saskatchewan Wheat Pool grain elevator and annex, but with many steel and plastic bins connected to it.

The elevator was owned by the Blue Hills Processors, which is now part of Seaboard Special Crops.

The town of Avonlea also has a preserved train station, built by the Canadian Northern Railway in 1912. It houses the Avonlea Heritage Museum.

Avonlea was on its namesake CN Avonlea subdivision, which is now owned and operated by the Southern Rails Cooperative shortline railway.

In 1974 Avonlea had three grain elevators (two lettered for Federal).
