The town of Melfort, Saskatchewan had quite a collection of grain elevators in August 1994 when Donald Bloomfield Hamilton came through. The Pool had a large “A” elevator with a crib annex along with a smaller elevator used as an annex, and a balloon annex to complete the complex.
There was a UGG grain elevator a kilometre or two west of the town. This elevator was demolished between 2013 and 2021, and has been replaced by the Andersons Grain terminal.
Cargill also had a complex near Melfort in 1994.
Modern Grain Elevators
Viterra and Richardson Pioneer both have inland terminals southwest of the town. In 2021 G3 announced it was building a new concrete elevator near Melfort.
